IPL 2024: LSG vs PBKS Match 11 - Top 3 player battles to watch out for

Punjab Kings (PBKS) will be taking on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the latter's backyard in the 11th match of the IPL 2024. The match is set to take place at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajapayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. In the last IPL, the pitch was slow and the batters struggled to score runs. After the season, the stadium witnessed renovation where the pitches were redesigned. Since then, Lucknow hosted some of the matches in the ODI World Cup 2023.

In the IPL 2024, the pitches in Lucknow are expected to be good for batting in the first couple of matches and then slow down with the progression of the tournament. It might indicate that the batters might have a good outing in the first couple of games. The match between PBKS and LSG might see a good surface which would be good for both batters and bowlers. While that promises to be a good match between the two sides, the focus would be on the players.

2. Nicholas Pooran vs Harpreet Brar

Nicholas Pooran is an aggressive batter who can change the complexion of the game in a matter of few overs. The Southpaw can smash the bowlers for fun even on slow wickets. In the first match against RR, he batted well despite ending on the losing side. Harpreet Brar is known to be an economical bowler. The left-arm orthodox spinner has been brilliant in the two matches he has played for PBKS so far in the IPL 2024, being economical and a wicket-taking option at the same time. 

In two matches in the league so far, Brar has claimed 3 wickets at a great bowling average of 9.00, at an insane economy rate of 3.86, with best match figures of 2/13 to his name, which came on a good batting surface like the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. On the other hand, the aggressive batter from the West Indies scored 64 runs in 41 balls against RR in the first match on a slow wicket at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur while chasing a mammoth total of 194 runs.

1. Liam Livingstone vs Ravi Bishnoi

This might be an interesting battle. Liam Livingstone is an aggressive batter who punishes the bowlers without any second thoughts. The star batter has been brilliant in the league since 2022 and has played some impactful knocks. Ravi Bishnoi might be the best bet from PBKS to counter him. The leg-spinner has the ability to stop the batters with his change of pace and variations. He has the golden arm to claim the wickets of the important batters of the opposition.
