Mumbai Indians (MI) come back to the Wankhede Stadium on the back of their win over Delhi Capitals on Sunday. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) though come to Mumbai after their loss to Rajasthan Royals in the last match.
The home team will want to start to build on the huge win they had against Delhi Capitals. Right from the openers to the powerhouse middle-order batting, everything clicked for the Mumbai Indians.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru have their task cut out after losing their last three games. Faf Du Plessis will hope his batters start to come good and share the workload that has fallen on Virat Kohli. The Bengaluru team also needs to work on their bowling which has turned out to be one of the most expensive in all of IPL.

Here are the top 3 player battles to watch out for in IPL 2024: MI vs RCB, Match 25 -
3. Glenn Maxwell vs Piyush Chawla
Mumbai Indians have seen their experienced spinner Piyush Chawla endure a miserable campaign so far. If Mumbai Indians need to make it to the top four, they need Chawla to come good and rediscover his form from last year.
Glenn Maxwell will be up against the veteran MI spinner and will look to heap more pressure on Piyush Chawla. The Australian star has a reputation for being brutal against the spinners and this player battle could be one to watch on Thursday.

2. Rohit Sharma vs Mohammed Siraj
Former skipper of Mumbai Indians, Rohit Sharma laid the foundation stone for the huge total versus Delhi Capitals. The 36-year-old employed the same tactics that he had during the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup. RCB will be wary of the threat that Rohit Sharma can bring and will want to dismiss him early.
One of the biggest weapons that RCB have to nullify Rohit Sharma is the pace of Mohammed Siraj. The 30-year-old pacer can swing the ball at good speeds and can move away from the batter and bring it into the batter. Siraj also knows Rohit Sharma’s penchant to throw his hands at the away going delivery and will want to capitalize on this weakness.

1. Jasprit Bumrah vs Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli was crestfallen after RCB lost the game despite his century versus Rajasthan Royals. While the rest of the batters have failed to put up a huge and substantial score on the board, Kohli has been in a league of his own.

Jasprit Bumrah time and again has shown his value to the Mumbai Indians team with the ball in hand. Jasprit Bumrah knows that Virat Kohli tends to poke the ball going away from him. If the 30-year-old can dismiss Virat Kohli, the chances for Mumbai Indians to win the game goes up tremendously.
