In the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) auction held in Dubai on December 19, 2023, franchises spent a huge chunk of money to rope in some quality players. Following the 2023 World Cup in India, franchises such as Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Chennai Super Kings (CSK), and Punjab Kings (PBKS) broke the bank to pick up marquee players who performed exceptionally at the One-Day International (ODI) event.
The 17th IPL edition began with the contest between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and now, eyes are set on players who bagged lucrative deals at the business event. 10. Kumar Kushagra (Delhi Capitals)- Yet to debut
Jharkhand wicketkeeper-batter Kumar Kushagra became a part of Delhi Capitals (DC) in the 2024 auction, for a huge amount of INR 7.2 crore. In DC’s first contest against PBKS in Mullanpur, Kushagra’s name was missing from the playing XI as captain Rishabh Pant was seen as a stumper-batter.
