Match 19 of the Indian Premier League 2024 will see the Rajasthan Royals take on the Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. The last encounter between these two sides at this stadium was one that the home side would have wanted to forget. Their horror showing with the bat saw them fold for just 59 runs and allowed the Royal Challengers Bengaluru to win the clash by a massive 112 runs.

However, this time around the chances of that happening look very slim since Rajasthan Royals are unbeaten so far this season in their three games in the tournament. They have been clinical in all three departments of the game and would look to continue this good run of form in the upcoming game.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru are in need of a win sooner rather than later as they have registered just a single win in their four matches in the competition. A win can be a huge confidence booster for the team but it would surely be a huge task to overcome the in-form Rajasthan side. Ahead of this gigantic clash between the two teams, let’s take a look at the top three player battles to watch out for in this game.

Here are the top 3 player battles to watch out for in IPL 2024: RR vs RCB, Match 19 -

3. Cameron Green vs Yuzvendra Chahal

The marquee signing for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Cameron Green has not picked up his form from last season and is kind of struggling with the bat. He has been able to amass just 63 runs from his four innings thus far and has been one of the weak links in the star-studded RCB batting unit.

His tough test would be against team India leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, who has been in tremendous form with the ball this season. In the three games so far, he has been able to pick six wickets in the tournament and is already in the running for the purple cap. He would be planning to cause a lot of trouble to Cameron Green in their upcoming match as the latter is known to struggle against prominent spin bowlers.

2. Faf du Plessis vs Trent Boult

The skipper of the RCB has not been in great form this season after the first four games of the tournament. He has not been able to last more than six overs in each of the four innings in the competition so far. His great form last season was one of the main reasons why the franchise was in the running for the play-offs.

The captain of the Bangalore franchise would be up against one of the best new ball bowlers of this generation. Trent Boult showed everyone what he is capable of as he rocked the Mumbai Indians’ top order without even troubling the scoreboard in his side’s previous game. With the indifferent form of Du Plessis, Boult would be fancying this battle and hope to get the veteran out cheaply tomorrow in Jaipur.

1. Virat Kohli v Nandre Burger

The former captain of Royal Challengers Bengaluru has been in stunning form of late and has been leading the run-charts for the franchise this season. He has been in the running for the Orange Cap as well which indicates the kind of form he has been in. He would be up against a tough Rajasthan Royals’ bowling attack which is brimming with confidence of late after this stunning performance against Mumbai Indians.

His first assignment would be to negate the threat posed by fast bowler Nandre Burger as his varied line and length often put the batters in trouble. He was also lethal alongside Trent Boult in the last game as he scalped early wickets for his side to put them on the front foot. His main aim would be to take the wicket of the Bengaluru franchises’ prized asset early on before he gets settled.
