6. Ashutosh Sharma (PBKS)
Punjab Kings (PBKS) endured another poor campaign in the IPL as they finished second last in the points table with five wins from 14 matches. Nevertheless, the heroics of some players should never go unnoticed. The 2024 season has seen many opening pairs perform brilliantly, but if there is one middle-order pair that has stolen the show, it is Punjab's Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma.
The duo had forged match-winning partnerships with some incredible hitting. Ashutosh often bats in the lower middle order and has scored 189 runs including a fifty at an amazing strike rate of 167.25.
5. Avesh Khan (RR)
Rajasthan Royals (RR) were on a roll in the first half of the IPL 2024 season but lost track in the second. They finished third on the points table and defeated RCB in the Eliminator but lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the second qualifier. While Jost Buttler's absence, Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag's performances and Trent Boult's new-ball exploits grabbed the limelight, Avesh Khan didn't garner much attention.
The right-arm pacer was in fact RR’s highest-wicket taker in the tournament with 19 scalps in 15 innings. He was impressive in the death overs, in terms of both wicket-taking and maintaining a good economy rate.
