Rohit Sharma's recent form has become a growing concern. The veteran opener has managed just 0 and 8 in his first two IPL 2025 outings, failing to provide the starts the team desperately needs. His lean patch is adding an extra burden on the middle order.

The team’s biggest worry over the past few years has been their top order, and Rohit’s form continues to aggravate that issue. His sixth single-digit score in his last nine IPL innings came in MI’s 36-run defeat to GT. Despite a solid showing for India in the Champions Trophy 2025 final, Rohit has been unable to replicate that touch in the IPL. Fans have not been pleased with his form with the bat. If MI decides to bench him, they could bring in the promising Robin Miz at the top order.
