5 CSK players RCB and MI could target at IPL 2025 mega auction

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have retained only five players ahead of the <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/tag/ipl-auction/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">IPL 2025 auctions</a> in the form of Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ravindra Jadeja, Matheesha Pathirana, Shivam Dube and MS Dhoni. With these retentions, they have shed 65 crore of the 120 crore purse. On the other hand, Royal Challengers Bengaluru have retained only three players in the form of Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar and Yash Dayal and have INR 83 crore left in their purse.
The CSKs’ counterparts Mumbai Indians, who also share a feat of five championships, have utilised INR 75 crore and enter the auction with INR 45 crore. Both RCB and MI will look to bolster their attacks with a balance of spinners, all-rounders, and some power hitters. CSK, who have leveraged all these while with an amalgamation of these traits, have provided fodder for the likes of MI and RCB in the IPL 2025 mega auction.

The right-handed batter is known to hit big sixes and charge from ball one. He played eight innings and scored 51 runs with a strike rate of 118.60 in the limited game time he got. <o:p></o:p>
On the other hand, he was the second highest runs scores in the Uttar Pradesh T20 League 2024. Playing for Kanpur Superstars, he scored 468 runs in 13 innings at an average of 42.54. RCB and MI had struggled with a batter who can accelerate lower down the order, and as a result, Rizvi may fit the bill.

With Maheesh Theekshana and Jadeja being other spinning options, he did not make it to the playing XI more often.
However, the New Zealand veteran played only one Test against India in the recently concluded series and picked 13 wickets. He is a proper all-rounding option if MI and RCB are considering one to join their camp for the IPL 2025 season.<o:p></o:p>
