IPL 2025 Team-wise Breakdown: Who spent most on spinners?
While veterans like Sunil Narine and Rashid Khan have not picked up too many wickets in IPL 2025 so far, youngsters like Noor Ahmad and Sai Kishore have made a mark.
2. Gujarat Titans - 20.30 crore
Gujarat Titans (GT) have a lot of spinners in their ranks. Rashid was retained for a whopping INR 18 crore ahead of the auction, while captain Shubman Gill got an INR 16.50 crore contract. Meanwhile, young Manav Suthar was signed at his base price of INR 30 lakh. However, R Sai Kishore, who was picked for INR 2 crore at the auction, has been the best spinner for the Titans by a distance. All-rounders Washington Sundar and Rahul Tewatia have not been used with the ball, and their salaries have not been taken into account.
1. Kolkata Knight Riders - 24.30 crore
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are the only franchise that retained two spinners - Varun Chakaravarthy and Sunil Narine - ahead of the auction. Both players received INR 12 crore contracts. They could not sign Suyash Sharma, who was with the franchise in IPL 2023 and 2024. The defending champions, however, picked up another leg-spinner, Mayank Markande, for his base price of INR 30 lakh. KKR's strength lies in their spinners, and that is why they have been wanting tracks that would provide more assistance for Narine and Co.
