2. Ishant Sharma
Ishant Sharma emerged into the scene when the Australians were dominating world cricket. He shocked everybody with his in-swinging delivery getting the better of Ricky Ponting and comprehensively dominating him. He was a 19-year-old back then who stunned everybody.
While he has 72 wickets off 93 matches he has played in the IPL, this average record does not completely tell the finesse of Ishant Sharma who has also taken a 5/12 in his IPL career. Yes, he has been far better in the longest format where he has played more than 100 Tests.
One should not forget that Ishant Sharma was one of the biggest reasons for India’s win in the 2013 Champions Trophy Final, which was a rain-curtailed 20-overs-a-side game. He took important wickets with his well-directed short deliveries and helped India win. But since he has been on the sidelines since the past few years, he might retire from IPL soon.
