1. Kevin Pietersen (2016) - Calf injury

The stylish English cricketer Kevin Pietersen was one of the best cricketers in all three formats of the sport because of his aggressive batting. Looking at his numbers and playing style, he grabbed the attention of some IPL franchises also by getting huge sums.

Playing in the cash-rich league, he represented three teams Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Delhi Daredevils (DD), and Rising Pune Super Giants (RPSG). The South Africa-born English batter, appearing for these teams, delivered many match-winning knocks and became a colossal name in the competition.

In the 2016 edition of the tournament, Pietersen injured his right calf and was carried off the field while playing for RPSG against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). After this incident, he never featured in the league and hung his boots in 2018.
