It has been over 15 seasons since the inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) took place and the marquee tournament has witnessed many jaw-dropping performances thus far. Be it an exceptional batting showing or an impeccable bowling spell or a spectacular fielding display, there have been performances in the IPL arena which has left the cricket fraternity amazed.

Also, there have been times when teams have done the unthinkable on the cricket field. They have batted out of their skins and taken top-quality bowlers to the cleaners to successfully hunt down massive targets.

Here are the top five successful run-chases in IPL's history

5. Lucknow Super Giants vs Chennai Super Kings- 2022

Lucknow Super Giants took the stage alongside Chennai Super Kings in the seventh match of the 2022 season of the T20 extravaganza. LSG won the toss and opted to field first. Chennai posted a daunting total of 210 runs on the board with Robin Uthappa (50 runs off 27 balls) scoring the most runs.

Super Giants in response, had a sensational start and raced away to 98 runs in 10 overs without a loss of a wicket. However, CSK bowlers chipped in with wickets at regular intervals to dent the opposition’s progress. 

At the end of the 18th over, Lucknow required 34 runs off 12 balls with in-form Evin Lewis (55* runs off 23 balls) and Ayush Badoni (19* runs off nine deliveries) at the crease. Both LSG batters put up an exhibition of their flamboyant stroke play and hunted down the target in 19.3 overs. Lewis was adjudged the Player of the Match for his blistering half-century.
