3. Rajasthan Royals vs Deccan Chargers- 2008
Deccan Chargers squared off against Rajasthan Royals in the ninth match of the inaugural season of the cash-rich league. Andrew Symonds (117 runs off 53 balls) was in his element and smashed a blistering ton to help his team post a humongous target of 214 runs on the board.
Rajasthan Royals in reply, did not have a great start and lost Kamran Akmal in the third over. However, Graeme Smith (71 runs off 45 balls) and Yusuf Pathan (61 runs off 28 balls) joined hands and stitched a 98-run stand off 44 balls to put RR in a position of strength. Though Yusuf got out, Smith carried on the good work and kept the scoreboard ticking.
Mohammad Kaif also came to the party and played a sensational knock of 34 runs off 16 deliveries to put his team in touching distance of the target. Then Shane Warne played a crucial cameo of 22* runs off nine balls to drive Royals to victory.
