5. Gujarat Titans (GT) vs Delhi Capitals (DC), IPL 2023
In match 44 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, Gujarat Titans (GT) hosted Delhi Capitals (DC) at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium. Winning the toss, DC skipper David Warner chose to bat first but his decision backfired as the visitors found Mohammed Shami too hot to handle.
Within six overs of the match, the Capitals lost five wickets in which their premier batters Phil Salt, Warner, Rilee Rossouw, and Manish Pandey also joined the list. Despite the failure of their key batters, DC put up a respectable total of 130/8 in their 20 overs, with some fine batting efforts from Aman Hakim Khan, Axar Patel, and Ripal Patel.
Defending 130, DC bowlers put up a disciplined show and contained GT on 125 at the end of the innings. Against GT’s powerful batting line-up, all their bowlers looked confident to take their squad home by five runs in the thrilling contest. Ishant Sharma, who defended 12 runs in the last over, got applauded for his fabulous bowling in the match.
