2. Virat Kohli's altercation with Virender Sharma (IPL 2021)

The matches between KKR and RCB have witnessed many aggressive moments over the years in the IPL and one such instance was when Kohli got furious over an umpiring decision by Virender Sharma in the Eliminator of the 2021 edition at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

Umpire Virender Sharma was at the receiving end when an appeal for LBW against Rahul Tripathi was overturned by the third umpire when reviewed by the Kohli-led RCB.

In the do-or-die game, the two teams were playing a competitive brand of cricket and a wayward decision could have made a huge impact to any side in that game. Kohli was seen in a heated argument when the decision was overturned by the third umpire.

And when Virender Sharma seemed to explain the situation, Kohli was visibly not in favour of what was being offered to him as an explanation for not giving the decision as out on field and the square leg umpire had to intervene and tell Kohli to back off to put the situation under control. RCB eventually lost the match and it was Virat Kohli’s last match as skipper of the team.
