With Gautam Gambhir’s act of silencing the Bangalore crowd after RCB’s game against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in match 15 of IPL 2023, the excitement of the next RCB vs LSG contest among spectators reached another level. This time, both teams faced each other at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in match 43 and Challengers pocketed the match by 18 runs.

After the game, Kohli and LSG pacer Naveen-ul-Haq exchanged words with each other during the post-match handshake. Subsequently, Kyle Mayers also got involved with Kohli, and witnessing that, LSG's mentor Gautam Gambhir rushed to the scene and tried to take the Caribbean batter away from the RCB veteran.

However, the scene turned ugly when the RCB stalwart and Gambhir also got involved in a verbal spat. Following the incident, the IPL governing body penalised Kohli and Gambhir 100% of their match fee, while Naveen was also penalised 50% of his match amount as punishment.
