3. Highest successful run chase in the IPL final

Kolkata Knight Riders locked horns with Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) in the finals of the 2014 season of the lucrative T20 tournament. Kolkata won the toss and skipper Gautam Gambhir decided to put KXIP into bat. Wriddhiman Saha (115 runs off 55 balls) and Manan Vohra (67 runs off 52 balls) took KKR bowlers to the cleaners and helped Punjab post a daunting total of 199 runs on the board.

Chasing 200 in a high-pressure final was quite a tough ask but the KKR batters were up for the challenge. Manish Pandey led the way with the bat and struck 94 runs off 50 deliveries to put Kolkata on a brink of victory. Piyush Chawla held his nerve in the end overs and played a crucial cameo of 13 runs in five deliveries to take his team across the line.

With the historic win, KKR recorded the highest successful run-chase in the final of the Indian Premier League and broke their own record that they created in 2012.  In the summit clash of the fifth IPL edition, Gambhir & co. hunted down the target of 191 runs against Chennai Super Kings to clinch their maiden title.
