4. Rahul Sharma
The leg-break bowler Rahul Sharma grabbed a lot of attention in 2011. Featuring in the Pune Warriors India's (PWI) 2011 IPL squad, he hunted 16 batters in 14 contests at an economy of 5.46, with his best figures of 3/13. Throughout the competition, his economical and wicket-taking bowling impressed the spectators.
Following his sensational bowling displays in the tournament, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCC) selected him for the home One-Day International series against the West Indies. Later, he also made his T20 International debut in Australia. However, his international career couldn’t boom as some of the other spinners.
Along with his international career, Sharma’s IPL career also saw a huge decline as he failed to repeat his 2011 performance. In 2014, Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) picked him at the mega auction but in the competition, he got only two matches to play for the franchise. The leggie has scalped 40 wickets in 44 games at an economy of 7.02.
