4. Steve Smith

Steve Smith has been one of those players who has made heads turn every time he has entered the cricket field. He has taken top-drawer bowling attacks to the cleaners and piled on runs for fun in the international arena. The Australian batter has also shown his class in IPL and notched up 2485 runs in 103 matches at a strike rate of 128.09.

Barring his batting might, Smith has been a proven leader and has driven the chariot of multiple IPL franchises. In the fifth edition of the marquee tournament, when the then-Pune Warriors India skipper Sourav Ganguly was unavailable, Steve was entrusted to fill his shoes.

Also, the flamboyant batter enjoyed captaincy stints for Rajasthan Royals in the years 2015, 2019, and 2020. He captained the franchise to the playoffs in the eighth edition. Moreover, Smith was handed the reins of Rising Pune Supergiant in the year 2017. He was spot-on with his tactics and marshaled his troops to the final showdown.
