IPL Auction: 5 released spinners who could start a bidding war
Spinners have played key roles for their teams in the Indian Premier League (IPL) since its inception in 2008. Several spinners could be hot properties in the upcoming IPL 2025 mega-auction.
2. Washington Sundar
Washington Sundar's stocks have risen this year, especially after he has returned to the Indian Test setup in more than three years during the home series against New Zealand. The Tamil Nadu cricketer showed that he is not just someone who can bowl a few tight overs with the new ball but can also deceive batters with turn and bounce, especially when the conditions favour the spinners.
Having made his IPL debut in 2017, Sundar has not been able to showcase his full potential in the league. From 60 matches, he has bagged 37 wickets at an economy rate of 7.54. His all-round skills have not been used as much as it should have been. However, the 25-year-old can expect a bidding war as his improved skillsets and rich vein of form could augur well for any team.
