Tamil Nadu player Shahrukh Khan, who is known for hard-hitting batting abilities, is yet to make his international debut for India. In the cash-rich IPL, he made his debut in 2021 after getting his maiden IPL contract from Punjab Kings (PBKS) for a massive sum of INR 5.25 crore.

In the auction, PBKS beat Delhi Capitals (DC) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to acquire the all-rounder. Playing his debut season in PBKS colours, he hit 153 runs in ten matches at a strike rate of 134.21. Noting his ordinary performance, PBKS parted ways with him after the tournament but shocked cricket supporters by signing him up again in the 2022 auction for a hefty amount of 9 crore.

The 28-year-old will go under the hammer again in the 2024 auction as PBKS released him in November 2023, after witnessing his performance in the last two seasons. Shahrukh’s ineffective batting display in 2023 proved the last straw for Punjab eventually.
