South Africa paceman Morne Morkel served DC from 2011 to 2013 and during those three seasons, he spearheaded the team’s pace attack exceptionally. In 2012, Capitals topped the points table with 11 off 16 wins and concluded their journey in the playoffs.

Morkel played a vital role in Delhi’s memorable campaign. The Protea grabbed 25 wickets in 16 matches at an economy of 7.19 and became the recipient of the Purple Cap. Following the 2013 season, Morkel didn’t feature in DC’s retention list following which his association with the franchise ended. The lanky speedster played 41 games for DC and got 51 wickets at an economy of 7.52.
