5. James Hopes’ 71 (33) against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in 2008
In the second game of the 2008 IPL edition, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Punjab Kings squared off with each other in Mohali and made their debut in the league. CSK registered a comfortable win but the hosts also grabbed a lot of eyeballs for following an enormous target of 241 runs with spunk. James Hopes stepped up for Punjab and played an excellent knock of 71 off just 33 with 13 boundaries (10 fours and three maximums). In the end, Punjab fell 33 runs short but the Aussie’s courageous batting display was appreciated.
