1. Anil Kumble’s 5/5 against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in 2009
Rajasthan Royals (RR) recorded their lowest IPL total in the 2009 instalment of the league played in South Africa. Appearing in the maiden game of the edition against RCB in Cape Town, Shane Warne and his men surrendered on an embarrassing score of 58 while chasing 134.
Anil Kumble stepped up with the ball and played a vital role in defending the low total. The India veteran bowled 3.1 overs and clinched a fifer, dismissing Yusuf Pathan, Ravindra Jadeja, Shane Warne, Munaf Patel, and Kamran Khan.
At the end of the game, Rahul Dravid won the Player of the Match award for his magnificent 66-run knock on the difficult batting turf but Kumble’s extraordinary bowling effort was something that made the game unforgettable for RCB supporters.
