3. Yuzvendra Chahal’s 5/40 against Kolkata Knight Riders, 2022

Yuzvendra Chahal grabbed his best bowling figures of his IPL career in 2022. Against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Brabourne Stadium, the India stalwart looked fabulous with the ball and claimed a fifer to steer his team to a seven-run win in the intriguing contest. Batting first after losing the toss, Royals amassed 217 runs on the board, with Jos Buttler’s 103-run knock off 61 deliveries.

KKR exuded confidence while chasing the humongous target as Aaron Finch and Shreyas Iyer stitched a 106-run partnership in just 53 deliveries. The Australia veteran went back to the pavilion after scoring 58 off 28 but Shreyas was present in the middle to give a headache to the Men in Pink.

In the pressure situation, Chahal showed nerves of steel and picked up Nitish Rana. The leggie’s next hunt was Venkatesh Iyer on the first delivery of the 17th over. Following Venkatesh’s wicket, he became more ferocious and dismissed the dangerman Shreyas, Shivam Mavi, and Pat Cummins on three consecutive deliveries. The star bowler concluded his spell with 5/40 figures, which helped him become the recipient of the Player of the Match award in the Royals’ triumph.
