4. Ishan Kishan
At the 2018 IPL mega-auction, Mumbai Indians (MI) signed up Ishan Kishan and in return, the youngster delivered decent batting numbers to his team. Donning the MI jersey for the first time in the league, Kishan looked positive and ended up with 275 runs in 14 matches at a strike rate of 149.45.
The southpaw played an essential role with his bat in MI’s fifth title victory in 2020. Notching up 516 runs in 14 matches at a strike rate of 145.76, he became the leading run-getter for MI in the season. In March 2021, the left-handed batter got a chance in international cricket as well.
During England’s tour of India in 2021, Kishan played his maiden international game in the second T20I held in Ahmedabad. The MI stalwart made his international debut huge by contributing 56 runs to the team in a comfortable seven-wicket triumph against the visitors. In December 2022, Kishan hit 210 runs against Bangladesh in Chittagong and became the seventh batter to notch up a double-ton in Men’s ODI cricket.
