6. Ricky Ponting
Ricky Ponting is one of the greatest cricketers to have played the sport. The former Australian cricketer featured in 168 Tests and amassed 13378 runs at an average of 51.85, consisting of 41 centuries. Talking about the ODIs, Ponting piled on 13704 runs in 375 matches at an average of 42.03, including 30 tons.
Besides his batting might, Ponting was a phenomenal leader and guided the Aussies to two World Cup triumphs in 2003 and 2007. He was in pristine touch when Australia took on South Africa in the final game of the three-match Test series in January 2006 in Sydney.
Making his 100th Test appearance for Australia, Ponting smashed twin centuries. He notched up 120 runs off 174 deliveries in the first innings to propel his team to 359 runs. Then again in the second innings, he plundered 143* runs off 159 balls to help the Aussies chase down 287. The legendary cricketer last represented Australia in December 2012.
