8. Mahendra Singh Dhoni
MS Dhoni made his debut in the international circuit in December 2004. In 2020, when the legendary wicketkeeper batter hung up his shoes, it broke the hearts of millions of fans. Dhoni registered many records to his name in his vast career. As a batter, he is on the elite list of cricketers who have crossed the 10000-run mark.
Along with that, he also ended his innings in international cricket as the most successful wicketkeeper for India. From 2007-2017, he captained India and under him, the team achieved three ICC trophies. Making his debut as a skipper in the ICC T20 World Cup 2007, he won the title for India. His biggest achievement as a captain came in 2011 when he led India to the ODI World Cup victory.
The veteran has got 71.9 million supporters on social media sites. In the Indian Premier League (IPL), it’s Dhoni’s charisma that helped Chennai Super Kings (CSK) get a lot of fans. Under his effective leadership, CSK are the joint-most successful team in the league, along with Mumbai Indians (MI) with five titles. Despite taking retirement from international cricket, Mahendra Singh Dhoni continues to be one of the most loved cricketers in the world.
