Mumbai Indians' 2013 IPL winning team: Where are they now?
Following 11 years of MI's first trophy win, let’s know what the 2013 champions are doing nowadays.
Mumbai Indians (MI) won their maiden title in 2013, under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy. The Men in Blue kicked off their campaign under former Australia skipper Ricky Ponting’s captaincy but the veteran failed to deliver effective results. After winning only three off six games under the Aussie, MI appointed Rohit Sharma as their skipper.
Holding the reins of the side, Rohit exuded confidence with his bat and captaincy to help Mumbai qualify for the playoffs with 11 wins. In Qualifier 1, they lost to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) but against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Qualifier 2, they registered a four-wicket win and qualified for the final. In the final at the iconic Eden Gardens, Rohit and Co. beat CSK by 23 runs and won their maiden title.
