2. M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru
One of the oldest cricket grounds in India, the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru was established in 1969. It is named after Mangalam Chinnaswamy Mudaliar, founder of the Mysore State Cricket Association. It hosted World Cup matches in 1987, 1996, and 2011 and will host in 2023 edition as well. It has a capacity of 40,000.
The ground saw modern amenities being added to it, with the highlight being becoming the first cricket stadium in the world to use solar panels to generate a bulk of the electricity needed to run the stadium. It has a state-of-the-art drainage system which helps dry the ground faster.
