With open stands and an unobstructed view of the hills from every angle of the grounds, it's one of the most tranquil places to host a match. Situated at an elevation of 1317 metres above sea level, this stadium is among the highest in India. The stadium under the HPCA is also home to one of the only residential facilities for female cricketers in the country. With its location, upkeep, and facilities, it has quickly become one of the favourite venues for both cricketers and fans to enjoy the game. 4. The Nehru Stadium in Pune has previously hosted two World Cup matches in 1987 and 1996. However, the Maharashtra Cricket Association felt the need to of having its own stadium dedicated to Cricket. Hence this MCA stadium was constructed. It is a modern design stadium with a huge concourse running around the seating arena, giving flexibility of movement, comfort, as well as safety for the fans. The stadium was previously named "Ekana Cricket Stadium" and carries significant meaning and symbolism "Ekana" is a Sanskrit word that translates to "one" or "unity". The general stands on the east and west ends hold 44,296 seats, while the rest are allocated to hospitality areas in the north and south ends. It is also the home ground for the Lucknow Super Giants IPL franchise. After some criticism for its slow pitch, the entire surface was re-laid for the ICC World Cup 2023 in which it is set to host 5 matches. 2. M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru M. It is named after Mangalam Chinnaswamy Mudaliar, founder of the Mysore State Cricket Association. It hosted World Cup matches in 1987, 1996, and 2011 and will host in 2023 edition as well. It has a capacity of 40,000. The ground saw modern amenities being added to it, with the highlight being becoming the first cricket stadium in the world to use solar panels to generate a bulk of the electricity needed to run the stadium. In 2015, the old stadium was closed and demolished before being completely rebuilt by February 2020, with an estimated cost of ₹800 crores. It is the most modern stadium in the world with 76 corporate boxes that can hold 25 persons each, 4 dressing rooms, a 55-room clubhouse, and an Olympic size swimming pool. Instead of the four towers, the stadium has LED lights installed alongside the roof’s edge which illuminates the entire ground. The 360° latest LED lights system, which is fitted on a ring on the inside edge of the roof and ensures no shadows are formed.
