Glenn Maxwell has emerged as a nightmare for bowlers in this tournament. Against the Netherlands, he notched up a 40-ball ton in Delhi and became the owner of the fastest World Cup century record. The innings filled him with confidence as he displayed his batting mettle against the Kiwi side.

On Dharamshala’s batting surface, he hit 41 off 24 with five fours and two maximums. His notable knock came against Afghanistan in Mumbai when Australia lost seven wickets at a score of 91 while following 292 runs. In the crisis, Maxwell flexed his muscles and played a spunky knock to help his team emerge victorious in the end.

The 35-year-old played 201-run innings off just 128 deliveries and helped the Men in Yellow win the game by three wickets. With this unprecedented knock, he became the first non-opener to hit a double century in the ODI format.
