Mohammed Shami has looked stunning for India thus far. The pacer has played only five games, in which he bagged 16 wickets at an economy of 4.78. In Hardik Pandya’s absence, Rohit Sharma inducted the speedster into the playing XI against New Zealand in Dharamshala.

In India’s four-wicket triumph against the Black Caps, Shami scalped five wickets. The veteran continued his sensational form against England in Lucknow. The Men in Blue defended 229 runs successfully against the defending champions and the 33-year-old outclassed four batters with his attacking approach.

After New Zealand and England, Shami mauled Sri Lanka at the Wankhede Stadium. At the iconic ground, India wrapped up the 1996 champions on 55, and the paceman took his second fifer of the tournament. With this bowling display, he equalled Australia pacer Mitchell Starc’s most five-wicket hauls (3) in the World Cup tournaments.
