8. Mitchell Starc

Mitchell Starc has not been at his best in this World Cup. As a frontline bowler, the pacer is expected to provide early breakthroughs to Australia with his blazing pace. In this tournament, he has struggled to instill fear in batters with his bowling, and his underwhelming bowling figures against Pakistan are corroborating.

Against the Men in Green at the M. Chinnaswany Stadium, Australia were saving 367 runs on the batting surface. Noting the fact, the veteran had to display his extraordinary side but he became a primary target for the Pakistan batters due to his indisciplined bowling.

Bowling eight overs in the game, the 33-year-old took Hasan Ali’s wicket but splurged 65 runs at an expensive economy of 8.13. Against the Dutch side, the Australian registered the heaviest World Cup victory (by runs) but Starc again failed to daunt batters with his bowling attitude.
