Babar Azam faced his biggest test in this World Cup 2023, as Pakistan faced off against India in Ahmedabad. The pressure showed on Pakistani players from the start as Babar Azam was booed by more than 1,30,000 fans at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Azam did well, scoring 50 and Mohammad Rizwan scored 49 runs.

But Pakistan was bowled out for 191 in a poor display of batting. And then when the famed Pakistani bowling turned up to defend the total, Rohit Sharma took them apart scoring 86 runs and giving a flying start to India. Babar Azam looked bewildered as his set plan was ripped apart. He looked out of ideas as soon as pressure was put on his bowlers and performed poorly as a leader.
