Lungi Ngidi is a talented bowler, but his career has been plagued by injuries and has not even spared him during the ICC World Cup 2023. First, he injured his hamstring against India in a tense encounter in Kolkata and then had an issue with his ankle against Afghanistan.

However, he did miss only one match as he was rested for one game. Ngidi has been in decent form for South Africa in the World Cup, picking ten wickets in eight games at an economy of 5.86. In case, Ngidi missed the semi-final due to injury concerns, South Africa have Gerald Coetzee to fall back on.
