5. Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra's highest partnership for New Zealand in the World Cup
In the opening World Cup 2023 game in Ahmedabad, New Zealand hammered the defending champions England by nine wickets and made their start exceptional in the competition. Following a decent total of 283, the Kiwis lost Will Young early but Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra stepped up in this contest and took their team home with their superb batting displays.
Conway racked up an unbeaten 152 off just 121, while Rachin Ravindra also scored his maiden One-Day International (ODI) hundred and made an essential contribution to his team’s confident victory. Both Conway and Ravindra stitched an unbeaten 273-run stand in this contest and registered the most successful partnership for New Zealand in the World Cup.
Prior to Conway and Ravindra’s stand, Chris Harris and Lee Germon’s 168-run partnership against Australia in the 1996 quarter-final was the best stand for the Kiwis in the World Cup. The extraordinary partnership between Conway and Ravindra is also the fourth-most successful partnership in the World Cup.
