Where it all started for cricket in England, 2019 was the best chance for the hosts to get their hands on the coveted trophy. Their brand new white ball approach was all over the event. They played like a strong favourite for the cup at that time. But nobody knew how things would be panned out for the winners in the final showdown.

Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes were taking England close to the target. Once Jos got out, it was Ben Stokes's heroics that took England to the score.  The match went to super over. Little did anyone expect NZ would end up scoring the same ENG did (again).

England were declared Champions of 2019 by boundary count. Everyone was amused by this deciding factor. Such was the fate of Kiwis, they came so close yet so far. ICC had that rule in their book and it came into action in the most important match.
