2. Kris Srikkanth (IND)- 4 Ducks
Kris Srikkanth was a member of India’s victorious 1983 World Cup side. He played eight matches and contributed 156 runs to the team in the title triumph. In the group round, he failed to be among the runs. In the 20th match of the competition in Tunbridge Wells, India beat Zimbabwe by 31 runs.
In this match, India were under pressure as they lost five batters at a score of 17. Srikkanth and his opening partner Sunil Gavaskar lost their wickets on nil. Skipper Kapil Dev tackled the crisis exceptionally and notched up 175 off 138 in the game and guided the team to victory.
Srikkanth looked completely out of colour in the 1992 World Cup. The veteran accumulated only 117 runs in eight games at a sub-par average of 16.71. Against quality sides Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa, he failed to score a single run. His underwhelming performance in the competition made him the Indian batter with the most number of ducks in the World Cup.
