Paul Valthaty grabbed a lot of eyeballs during the 2011 IPL instalment due to his brilliant batting performance. Against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Mohali, he scored his maiden and only IPL ton and received appreciation from former legends of the game.

Bowling after winning the toss, Punjab restricted CSK to 188 in 20 overs. Following the huge target, PBKS lost their captain Adam Gilchrist early but Valthaty was too hot to handle for CSK bowlers. The right-handed batter held one end and took his team home with his unbeaten 120 off 63. Valthaty also received the Player of the Match award in his team’s six-wicket win.
