The 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has once again proven that there are a lot of young and talented cricketers in India, waiting for opportunities to excel. The ongoing edition has unearthed some special talents who can represent the nation soon. The IPL has received flak over the years whenever India have been unable to lift the T20 World Cup. However, the league's importance and value are clear as daylight for cricket enthusiasts around the world after India's dominance in ICC events in recent years. Especially in the T20 format, the Indian team is a force to be reckoned with. Following the retirements of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja from the shortest format in international cricket last year after the T20 World Cup triumph, India's transition has been smooth. The likes of Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma have produced some scintillating performances for the nation. Harshit Rana, Ravi Bishnoi, and many other bowlers in the current T20 setup came to prominence after doing well for their franchises in the IPL. He was roped in by Punjab Kings in the 2025 mega-auction. The southpaw comes in the long line of batters hailing from Punjab who can clear the longest of boundaries with ease. He has played seven innings this season for the Kings and amassed 189 runs at an average of 37.80 and a strike rate of 146.52. Wadhera can play at any position in the batting order, and that makes him a valuable asset for his team. The 24-year-old will fit in seamlessly to the current approach of the Indian team in T20 cricket where the batters play fearlessly without worrying about their wickets. 4. Vipraj Nigam Vipraj Nigam. (Source:IPL) Vipraj Nigam is a rare breed of all-rounders who can bowl accurate leg-spin and tonk the ball down the order. He has already bowled some fantastic spells in the ongoing edition of the IPL, and his 15-ball 39 in Delhi Capitals' first game of the season helped his team chase down a 210-run target after being reduced to 113/6 in the 13th over. The 20-year-old has not had too many opportunities with the bat since then, but he has picked up seven wickets from eight games at an average of 29 and a strike rate of 18.86. Nigam will look to finish the tournament on a strong note, with Capitals looking set to secure a playoff berth. He could earn a maiden India call-up after the IPL. 3. Angkrish Raghuvanshi Angkrish Raghuvanshi (Source: IPL/X) Angkrish Raghuvanshi has been performing well for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for the past couple of seasons. The Mumbai batter has batted mostly in the middle order this season. In KKR's most recent fixture against Gujarat Titans, Raghuvanshi was pushed down to No. 9, and he still showed his potential by slamming an unbeaten 27 off 13 balls in a losing cause. Raghuvanshi is a technically solid batter who can also play the ramp shots every now and then to unsettle the rhythm of the bowlers. The 20-year-old has scored 197 runs from seven innings in IPL 2025 at an average of 39.40 and a strike rate of 149.25. 2. Abishek Porel Abhishek Porel (Source: Delhi Capitals) Abishek Porel started IPL 2025 as Delhi Capitals' (DC) No. 3 batter but has moved up to open the batting after Faf du Plessis suffered an injury. The Bengal wicketkeeper-batter is easy on the eye and relies on timing to hit his boundaries. He also has the ability to pierce gaps on the off-side, especially inside the powerplay. While Porel might not get into India's full-strength squad as yet, he could be given opportunities at times when the senior players are not in the side. He hasn't been used too much as a wicketkeeper by DC as KL Rahul is donning the gloves. However, he is a very skilful wicketkeeper, having the ability to take flying catches and effect lightning-fast stumping. Porel has scored 225 runs from eight innings at an average of 32.14 and a strike rate of 146.11. 1. Digvesh Singh Rathi Suryakumar-Yadav-and-Digvesh-Singh-Rathi. (Photo Source: IPL) Lucknow Super Giants' (LSG) leg-spinner Digvesh Singh Rathi has overshadowed Ravi Bishnoi in his maiden IPL stint. The 25-year-old burst onto the scene by picking up 14 wickets in 10 matches during an impressive Delhi Premier League campaign in 2024. Signed by LSG for his base price of INR 30 lakh, Rathi has produced some consistent performances for the Rishabh Pant-led franchise and bagged important wickets at crucial junctures in the matches. Rathi has taken nine wickets from as many games in IPL 2025. He is averaging 29.11 and has an economy rate is 7.28, which is commendable for a leg-spinner. The Delhi-born can be a handy addition to the Indian team, especially with the first-choice leg-spinner in T20Is - Bishnoi - going through a lean patch.
