T20 World Cup 2022: 5 bowlers who could bowl the fastest ball in the tournament
There are some top-quality bowlers who can set the speed gun on fire at the global event.
2. Anrich Nortje
Anrich Nortje has set the international stage ablaze with his scorching pace. He has ripped through batting lineups and has become an important member of the South African bowling setup. In the T20Is, he has played 24 matches and picked as many wickets at an economy of 7.50.
The 28-year-old has put up an exhibition of his lightning pace on many occasions. At the IPL, Nortje has even sent the speed gun to 156.22 in the game against Rajasthan Royals in 2020. He bowled that stunning delivery to wicket-keeper batter Jos Buttler.
At the last year's T20 World Cup, Nortje bowled at a whizzing pace of well over the 150 kmph mark and picked nine wickets in five games at a sensational economy of 5.37. With the ongoing marquee event played in the seam-friendly conditions of Australia, the Proteas pacer can become more lethal and might bowl the fastest delivery of the competition.
