2. Shakib Al Hasan
The prolific all-rounder and skipper of Bangladesh, Shakib Al Hasan has been an inspirational figure in Bangladesh Cricket over the years. Earlier this year, he was chosen as a leader of the team in the shortest format. Shakib’s task seems quite arduous as he is joined by a young team that will miss the services of Mushfiqur Rahim and Tamim Iqbal.
Nevertheless, the 35-year-old is coming into this tournament with enough runs under his belt by virtue of his outings in the T20I tri-series in New Zealand. The experienced campaigner has 122 wickets in the shortest format and is also the leading wicket-taker.
In the last edition of the T20 World Cup, Shakib emerged as the top wicket-taker for the team with 11 wickets in six games at an economy of 5.59. He would surely look to replicate the same performance to help the team in going deep into the tournament.
