Bangladesh - 6/10

With a horrible Asia Cup 2022 behind them, the Bangla Tigers have their eyes now set on the silverware. Team director Khaled Mahmud is aware of the present situation and wants to groom players for the future. That’s where skipper Shakib Al Hasan and company need to come and prove that their team has still got the quality to get the job done.

Mosaddek Hossain will be one of the key figures for Bangladesh when it comes to finishing games for them. The 26-year-old was very good in the recently concluded Asia Cup and the management can even think of promoting him up the order but the chances of that happening are looking quite thin at the moment.

The youngster has played nine T20Is in the year 2022, scored at an average of 28.25 and has a strike rate of 142.85. He will be backed by the management but it’s the top order that needs to give a good start for him to dominate in the death-overs.

He will be bolstered by the presence of Nurul Hasan who has done well in the recently concluded T20I series against the United States of Emirates. In 2022 itself, the 28-year-old wicketkeeper batter has scored 130 runs in six innings at a strike rate of 141.30.

He averages 65 in the shortest format of the game and that’s massive considering how poor other batters have been for Bangladesh in recent times. Hence, Bangladesh have got the quality at the back end but it’s the top order that needs to click.
