T20 World Cup 2022: Team-wise one fittest cricketer

The eighth edition of the ICC T20 World Cup is set to be the biggest tournament this year with 16 teams playing 45 matches across seven Australian cities for the coveted title. The extravagant competition is back is set to commence in less than a week and fireworks will be expected when teams battle it out down under. Boards of the cricketing nations participating in the tournament have announced their 15-member contingents. Teams have begun ideating plans to balance their squad and will hope to attain consistency and rhythm in the warmup matches before the regular group stage matches kicks off. The sport has evolved and so have the fitness standards of the players over the years. Every squad most certainly has atleast one player who keeps in decent shape and can be a game-changer due to great fitness. Cricketers have taken fitness levels a notch higher and have used that to supplement their game as well. Teamwise one fittest cricketer in the tournament 1. New Zealand- Trent Boult New Zealand spearhead Trent Boult is easily one player in the Kiwi setup who keeps himself in great shape. The Kiwis will be sweating on the fitness of the swing king in the forthcoming T20 World Cup. The Black Caps pacer holds a strong physique and always works on his body which further helps him in his bowling. Boult presents a significant threat to batters around the world and is versatile enough to move the ball both ways even in unresponsive conditions. The pacer is also one among the few fast bowlers with exceptional fielding skills and has a knack for one-handed blinders. Undoubtedly, the side will benefit with the services of the left-arm pacer in the marquee tournament down under. 2. South Africa- David Miller David Miller made famous the phrase "If it's in the arc, it's out the park." The dynamic South African is known for his hard-hitting abilities and has dispatched the ball out of the park on numerous occasions. But the player gets a lot of his strength as he enjoys powering through the gym and keep up a strict diet. Miller has been a game changer for the sides he has represented in the past guiding them to glory. The southpaw is strong off the front and back foot and eager to swing his arms. Bangladesh- Taskin Ahmed The Bangla Tigers have the services of Taskin Ahmed, the speedster who garnered a lot of attention during his formative years. Ahmed has consistently been economical during his stint with the national side due to his fiery pace that has the potential to bamboozle top-order batters. The tall fast bowler has a body structure slightly akin to Mashrafe Mortaza, and this has helped Ahmed to build up a smooth run-up. The speedster is capable of clocking nearly 150kph that can rip past batters and hit the wicketkeeper's gloves quite hard. Bangladesh will hope that Ahmed does not endure any sort of injuries during the course of the marquee competition. 4. Afghanistan- Rashid Khan Fitness has been one of the reasons for Rashid Khan’s success both with the ball and on the field. The player is close to entering his prime years and Afghanistan will be relieved that the player is not injury prone and delivers almost every time he dons the national outfit. The spinner has flourished into one of the best spinners of all time and has had a huge impact for his national side. Rashid is known to have variations aplenty with his biggest weapon being an accurate googly. Moreover, the player can put batters under pressure with his speed through the air. The spinner may not be the most ideal person in terms of swiftness but can add a lot on the field. Rashid will need to maintain high fitness levels if he is to be the main man guiding his team to rival other sides. 5. England- Ben Stokes Ben Stokes has played a vital role for the English side on many occasions even in one that has won them the Cricket World Cup. The all-rounder holds a strong physique and toned body that has helped him to average 135+ km/h bowling. Adding to this, Stokes can pull off a screamer with his sensational fielding skills for the side. Moreover, the attacking southpaw maintains a level of aggression and has the knack to provide breakthroughs when nothing seems to work for his team. Stokes will be crucial in the development of England’s campaign in the T20 World Cup 2022. Being at his peak now, the left-hander will look to continue his sublime performances on the pitch with his insane fitness levels. 3. Pakistan- Mohammad Rizwan Mohammad Rizwan has taken over the wicketkeeping from former skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed and rightfully so. Gone are those days when players could walk with a potbelly as the current breed is a lean, muscled lot who have taken the game to a whole new level. Among them is current wicketkeeper batter, Mohammad Rizwan. The right hander has been in sublime form off late and ensures he maintains his body balance, diet and training routine that further helps him to get place in Pakistan T20I, ODI and Test series squad. Certainly, his batting along with skipper Babar Azam will be one to watch out for in the forthcoming tournament in Australia. 2. Australia- Pat Cummins Pat Cummins maintains a tall structure coupled with toned physique and strict diet. The exciting fast bowler has all the weapons a pacer requires and can use his height for the extra bounce that is needed to scalp a few wickets. The Aussies are among the favorites that can go on to retaining the title for the second time in a row and Cummins can play a big role. His fitness has helped him progress to becoming the premier strike bowler of the national team across all formats. Australia will be rooting that the pacer remains at his best shape for the T20 World Cup. A fit and firing Cummins will boost the Aussies’ hopes of defending the title at home. 1. India- Virat Kohli The one name that naturally gets associated with the term ‘fitness’ is that of Virat Kohli. The former India skipper understands the dynamics and the needs of the game and makes it a point to keep himself at par to compete at the highest level. His insanely fit physique helps him dish impeccable performances on the pitch. Kohli has set the bar very high with his fitness regime for others to catch up. This has helped not just fellow players but also from around the world to take inspiration from the right-hander. Kohli has nearly regained his form following a string of poor outings since the last two years. His fitness has never been an issue and he is one player who can be relied on when it comes to taking charge in the fielding department. India will hope that he keeps his fitness intact and continues his sublime hitting as the side will lock horns with some of the best cricketing nations in the T20 World Cup 2022.
