2. Mohammed Shami - Gujarat Titans
Mohammad Shami was the wrecker-in-chief with the ball for the Gujarat Titans in IPL 2022. He gave Hardik Pandya & Co. an ideal start with the ball by denting the opposition up front and played a vital role in Gujarat’s title triumph.
The veteran pacer took 20 wickets in 16 games at an economy of 8.00 and was also the highest wicket-taker in the powerplay this year with 11 wickets to his name. Despite a stellar IPL 2022, Shami was not included in the Indian T20 set-up.
Shami has been carrying the mantle of the Indian bowling attack along with Jasprit Bumrah in Tests and 50-overs cricket. However, he has not been picked for the national side in the shortest format since the last year’s World Cup fiasco. For the upcoming T20 extravaganza, the 32-year-old could only make it to the list of stand-by players.
