5. Philip Salt
Known as a tonker of the cricket ball, Philip Salt is a popular figure in several global T20 leagues. As an opener, he likes to go on the offensive right from the first ball but he is still a work under progress at the international level.
In the four T20 internationals that he has played, Salt has only scored 68 runs. While in domestic cricket, he has aggregated 3640 runs in 158 matches thus far. Even though he has a good strike rate of 150.22, his average of 25.45 is a matter of concern.
The 26-year-old will have a great chance to spend some time in the England dressing room and learn a few tricks. If given a chance, he can be extremely destructive. However, with Jos Buttler and Alex Hales likely to open, Salt will most likely be seen sitting on the bench in the global event.
