Team India's T20 World Cup 2016 squad members: Where are they now?
Only five Indian players from the T20 World Cup 2016 squad are set to feature in the upcoming 2022 T20 World Cup.
15. Jasprit Bumrah
Bumrah enjoyed his breakthrough season in 2016 with six wickets in the three-match T20I series against Australia in January. But his performances in the 2016 T20 World CUP were not impressive with only four wickets in five matches. He dismissed Chris Gayle for just five runs in the semi-final clash against the West Indies but went on to concede 42 runs in four overs.
After the World Cup, Bumrah was quick to rise in stature in Indian cricket with consistently impressive performances across formats. He made his red-ball debut in January 2018 and finished the year with 48 wickets - still a record for an Indian bowler in his Test debut year. He captained the Indian red-ball team for the first time in the fifth Test match against England in July 2022 and scored a record 35 runs in an over bowled by Stuart Broad.
Burmah ranks fourth in both ICC ODI and Test bowling charts but has been struggling with injury and fitness issues lately. He missed the 2022 Asia Cup tournament due to injury but has been named in the upcoming 2022 T20 World Cup.
