The players who got retained despite their underwhelming performances were fortunate to get another chance and hence there will be pressure on them to be assiduous and provide solid figures next time.

3. Krishnappa Gowtham (Lucknow Super Giants)

In the last season, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) gave a chance to the Karnataka right-arm off-spinner Krishnappa Gowtham. He was bought by LSG for INR 90 lakhs. In domestic cricket, Gowtham is one of the most renowned bowlers, and with such profile, he was expected to do wonders for his new team.

Playing in four matches for LSG, Gowtham impressed in patches with his bowling skills. By taking five wickets in four contests at an economy rate of 8.25, he deserved a few more chances but was unfortunate.

Ahead of the mini-auction, the chances of Gowtham getting retained were less but the franchise has backed the bowling all-rounder and he will be seen giving his best for the unit in the next edition.
