Travis Head has done his job excellently in Australia's Test squad since 2022. During his team’s tour of Pakistan and Sri Lanka, he failed to be among the runs but in his team’s 2-0 victory against the West Indies in December, he performed well and became the second-leading run-getter in the tournament, with 312 runs in three innings of two Tests.

The left-handed batter looked decent with his bat against the visitors South Africa again, amassing 213 runs with three half-centuries in four innings of three Tests. Head became the fourth leading run-scorer for the Aussies in the year 2022, scoring 655 runs with a couple of tons and three fifties in 15 innings of 10 matches.

In 2023, Australia struggled against India in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2022-23 but Head’s batting numbers were decent in the tournament. Scoring 235 runs in six innings of three Tests, the 29-year-old became the sixth leading run-scorer in the competition. In the World Test Championship (WTC) final, his powerful knock of 163 in the first innings played a vital role in his team’s emphatic 209-run victory over India.
