Three bowlers from T20 World Cup 2022 Mumbai Indians might bid for in IPL 2023 auction
The lack of bite in Mumbai’s bowling was one of the reasons for their disastrous IPL campaign in 2022. With the next season in sight, the think tank would look to make some personnel changes.
Mumbai Indians have been one of the most dominating teams in the history of the Indian Premier League. However, the five-time IPL champions could not get their act together in the 15th edition of the tournament and finished at the bottom of the table with just four wins in 14 games.
The lack of bite in Mumbai’s bowling was one of the reasons for their disastrous campaign. With the next season in sight, the think tank would look to make some personnel changes in the bowling department. MI could have a close look at a few of the top-quality bowlers who are currently featuring in the T20 extravaganza in Australia.
Let us look at the bowlers from T20 World Cup 2022 whom MI can bid on in the upcoming mini-auction:
3. Joshua Little
The stature of Joshua Little in the T20 circuit has grown leaps and bounds of late. In the international arena, the Irish pacer has been among the leading wicket-takers in the shortest format this calendar year with 34 scalps in 24 games at an economy of 7.77.
In the ongoing T20 carnival he has been simply sensational, picking six scalps in the five matches played so far. Little was also the chief architect with the ball in Ireland’s historic win against England getting rid of Jos Buttler and Alex Hales in his opening spell.
The 22-year-old also proved his bowling might in the Hundred 2022, which saw him take a staggering tally of 13 wickets in mere five games and that too at an economy of 7.42. Little’s stocks have been on a meteoric rise and the Mumbai franchise might look to draft him into their squad to bolster their pace attack.
